Trail Passes
All off highway vehicle operators are required to purchase an Alberta Snowmobile Association Trail Pass. Annual trail passes per sled are $70.00. Trail passes can be purchased from Club Members, RPM Powersports in Whitecourt or Whitecourt Garden Market IGA (open 7 days a week). Each trail pass sold essentially pays for 1.3 miles of trail grooming! The Trailblazers currently maintain roughly 200 miles of trails in the Whitecourt – so purchase your trail pass and support your local club!
Support the maintenance of our local trails and purchase a Trailblazers’ Annual Club Membership for $15.00.
Donations
Donations to the Trailblazers can be submitted into drop boxes located at the Eagle River Staging Area and the Warm Up Shelter on the Athabasca Loop. All funds are allocated to the ongoing maintenance and grooming of local trails.
Maps
Thanks to the volunteer efforts of the Trailblazers Snowmobile Club, all routes throughout the community are clearly marked and groomed when the weather and conditions permit.

Town of Whitecourt Off Highway Vehicle Bylaw
Town of Whitecourt Bylaw 1138 regulates the use of off-highway vehicles (OHV), including snowmobiles and quads, within Town boundaries.
The Bylaw only allows for seasonal use from December 1 to March 31, and is designed primarily for snowmobile use when the ground is frozen and snow covered to keep erosion and potential OHV damage of Town trails to a minimum. OHV operation outside the specified time period is prohibited.
- Maximum speed of operation within Whitecourt is limited to 20 kilometers per hour.
- OHV operation is permitted on various streets, alleys, and designated trails, provided you use the most direct route from where the vehicle is normally stored to the nearest location that the OHV is permitted to operate.
- There are specific designated routes and trails designed for travel out of Town. Refer to the Town of Whitecourt OHV Trail Map for further details.
- Certificates of registration and insurance for the machine are required.
- Children under the age of 14 years are not permitted to operate an OHV unless accompanied by, or are in close proximity to, an adult who is providing instruction.
- There are numerous areas within Town where operation is not allowed. All operators should become familiar with these sites. Dahl Drive, Highway 43, and Highway 32 right-of-ways are prohibited areas.
It is through the cooperation of all residents that we are able to maintain Bylaw 1138 and OHV use so that everyone can enjoy our surroundings. Please be considerate of your neighbours when operating your recreational vehicle.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Community Services Department at (780) 778-6300.
