Press Release - Whitecourt Town Council Update February 14, 2018

Town Council will be providing the Whitecourt & District Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Downtown Business Association, free rental on the billboard sign located at the corner of Highway 43 and 51 Street.  This billboard will be used for the promotion of the downtown business core.
   
The Whitecourt & District Chamber of Commerce has invited Town Council and Whitecourt residents to a Pre-Consultation Information Sharing Session regarding the Caribou Recovery Plan.  This event will be held on February 20 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary School.  Please contact the Whitecourt & District Chamber of Commerce to register.  
The Information Sharing Session is in advance of the Government of Alberta’s Whitecourt Public Engagement Session scheduled on February 20 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Parish Hall.  Get informed, become engaged, be heard!

Members of Whitecourt Town Council will be attending the 2018 Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference in Halifax May 31 to June 3, 2018.  This event offers Council the opportunity to network with other municipalities and with federal leaders, thorugh a series of information sessions and study tours. 
 
The Whitecourt Woodlands Recreation Park Society will be holding Eastlink Day on Saturday, February 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Eastlink Park.  The Eastlink corporation will be in attendance and will be providing a lunch, free tubing, hosting draws, and will be making a cheque presentation.  

Whitecourt Woodlands Tourism will be hosting a checkpoint at the Whitecourt Trailblazers’ 2018 Snowmobile Rally on Saturday, February 17.  Council members will be in attendance to welcome snowmobilers.

The Whitecourt & District Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Economic Forum on March 8 at the St. Joseph Parish Hall.  This year’s event features keynote speaker Ian Hill, Humanitarian, Award Winning Business Leader, and Social Innovator.  For tickets, contact the Chamber Office at 780-778-5363.
