The Planned Giving Program provides a unique opportunity for citizens and corporations to assist in enhancing Whitecourt’s outdoor recreation facilities.
Citizens, families, corporations and community groups have an opportunity to donate cash to purchase a variety of park and open space amenities. The Program can be used to: commemorate the life of a loved one; salute good corporate citizenship; increase awareness of service group’s activities; demonstrate individual commitment to the community.
Examples of Donations or Gifts Include
- Shrub - Playground Equipment
- One Meter of Asphalt Trail - One Kilometer of Gravel Trail or Asphalt Trail
- Picnic Table - Sponsorship of an event or activity
- Park Trail Head Signs - Rest Stop Area/View Point
- Park Bench or Main Street Bench

How Will Your Donation Be Recognized?
- A brass nameplate will be placed on the donated item (or nearby) identifying you as the donor and in the case of a memoriam, naming the loved one.
- An advertisement will be placed in the Whitecourt Star.
- A tax-deductible receipt will be issued.
- In the case of a substantial donation, which the Town shall determine, a nameplate will be placed on a central park recognition or entrance sign.
- In the case of a sponsored activity, your name, corporate name, etc., will be prominently displayed during the activity and during advertising of the event.
