The Town of Whitecourt will be implementing residential waste cart automated collection this May.  Every home will be provided with a special cart that will enable this enhanced, cleaner, and more efficient service to begin.  Starting May 1,  all residential utiltiy customers will be required to use the new cart system, and all waste will be collected from front curbsides (pick up from back alleys will be discontinued).

• The new rolling waste carts that will be supplied by the Town mean no more lifting of heavy bags and cans for residents.
• The carts are durable and have lids making it difficult for animals to get into and scavenge through litter.  The design and size of the carts also decrease the likelihood of the wind blowing cans over, thereby reducing the amoun to litter in our community.
• Residential alleys will be cleaner due to the absence of uncollected waste, and residents will not have to contend with deep ruts in laneways in the winter cause by heavy waste collection truck traffic.
• A standardized waste cart and automated service means a more efficient collection system.

Set Out/Set Back Service

Ever Green Ecological Services will provide Set Out/Set Back Service for persons with disabilities who have difficulty moving the cart to the collection point.  If you qualify, crews will move your cart to the collection point and return it once emptied.  You can download the application form online or contact the Town Office for a copy at 780-778-2273.
