Instead of purchasing extra garbage tags, excess household garbage can be dropped off at the Whtiecourt Transfer Station. Also accepted are grass, leaves, and garden wastes for composting. When decomposition is complete, the material is available free of charge to the public. The Transfer Station also accepts trees that are less than 6 inches in diameter for chipping, and wood chips are also available free of charge to the public.

The Whitecourt Transfer Station now accepts blue bag recycling. Offered for County residents, multi-family dwellings, and mobile home parks who are currently not participating in the
Residential Curbside Blue Bag Recycling Program.
