Construction season is here and crews will be out in force in the coming weeks to complete local road and other infrastructure projects.

A complete list of construction areas, including localized paving areas and utility cut restoration projects, along with tentative construction schedule is available on our website at: www.whitecourt.ca/Services/Roads-Street-Maintenance
Flag people will be on site to direct traffic in all construction areas, and motorists are asked to drive with caution and watch for posted signs and instructions. Motorists and pedestrians should be aware there may be travel delays, and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible. For projects scheduled in residential areas, on-street parking may be limited. Signs will be posted in affected neighbourhoods at least 24 hours in advance of crews beginning work.
West Whitecourt Road Maintenance:
Property owners on 50 Avenue in West Whitecourt may notice increased truck traffic starting next week as the millings from all community paving projects will be hauled and placed on the road to provide dust control and temporary road stabilization.
Pot Hole Patching:
As is typically the case, Whitecourt experienced temperature swings throughout the winter and spring season, which has created ideal conditions for the development of potholes. Town of Whitecourt crews will continue with pot hole patching throughout town for the next two weeks.
Town of Whitecourt crews will continue with line painting (crosswalks, stop lines, no parking zones, etc.) throughout the community over the next two weeks.
Storm Catch Basin Replacements
Crews will be working to replace storm catch basins in a variety of locations. The project contractor will notify property owners in impacted areas, and flag people will be on site to assist with traffic re-routing when necessary. It is anticipated this work will begin the week of August 19, and crews will work between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on weekdays; and 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on weekends. A complete list of locations is listed on www.whitecourt.ca.
