World Cerebral Palsy Day

Whitecourt Town Council encourages the citizens of Whitecourt to recognize October 6 as World Cerebral Palsy Day. Cerebral palsy refers to a group of disorders in the development of motor control and posture, occurring as a result of a non-progressive impairment of the developing central nervous system. The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta provides programs and services, to advocate and promote awareness, acceptance and understanding for persons with disabilities to live, learn and work in the community.
