Equipment and crews are on site at the Scott Safety Centre to begin work on the 2,000 square foot expansion project.
The partnership project, which will be completed by Brennex Building Corporation Ltd., is scheduled for completion at the end of October 2019 and will include the following components:
Brennex Building Corporation Ltd. has indicated that it will be using local contractors to complete the project.
“I’m happy to see crews on site and construction work underway at the home of the Wolverines, the Scott Safety Centre,” stated Whitecourt Wolverine owner Brent Stark. “Our Club has been looking forward to this for a long time, and the new dressing rooms, additional offices and other amenities will help our Club meet our long and short term goals.”
Having an exclusive area for the Junior A team further cements the presence of the Wolverines in our region, and will allow for other community groups to make use of the space currently allocated to the Club. The Whitecourt Wolverines will start pre-season activities in August and utilize its existing dressing room, and then will transition to the new space upon project completion.
“After years of working together on this project, I’m so pleased to see construction started and on target for completion for use in the 2019/2020 AJHL season,” added Whitecourt Mayor Maryann Chichak. “Not only will the expansion project provide dedicated space to the Whitecourt Wolverines, but it will free up space at the Scott Safety Centre for other user groups and better meet the needs of our community.”
