Press Release - Whitecourt Town Council Update November 29, 2019
Whitecourt awarded a FireSmart Vegetation Management Project valued at $166,295 to Wide Open Slashing. The project, which is fully funded through a grant from the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta, will include treating 20.7 hectares and retreating 22.7 hectares of Crown land using FireSmart principles and practices in the east valley area.
A Quarterly Financial Report up to September 30, 2019 and the 2019 Project List have been adopted as information by Council. The reports provide supplementary information to Council on providing municipal services to the community, and highlight areas of importance and successes. The documents can be viewed on our website at www.whitecourt.ca.
Whitecourt has invited Woodlands County Council to meet on January 27, 2020 to review Phase 1 of the Regional Business Park Feasibility Study. The Study, which is a partnership project, will help to determine the current and future demands to remain viable, as well as promote responsible and sustainable industrial development in our region. The project is funded through the Alberta Community Partnership Grant.
