Press Release - Sled Invasion Promises Three Action Packed Days of Fun this Family Day Weekend
Sled Invasion, hosted by the Whitecourt Trailblazers Snowmobile Club, is scheduled February 14 to 16. The event, which will celebrate the Club’s 40th Anniversary, will include a snowmobile parade, freestyle show, family rally, and concert. For details visit www.whitecourttrailblazers.ca/invasion40/.
Motorists are advised that street closures have been approved throughout the weekend to accommodate the event.
- Flats Road will be closed from Rotary Park to the Flats Connector on Friday, February 14 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. for the Snowmobile Parade. Join in as the Club gears up to break our community’s own world record for the largest gathering of snowmobiles. Access to Flats Road will be provided for area residents and emergency vehicles only.
- 50 Street/Legion Street from 50 Avenue to 52 Avenue will be closed on the following dates to accommodate the Freestyle Show:
- Friday, February 14 from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m.
- Sunday, February 16 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Permission has also been granted for use of Rotary Park for parking, as a staging area, and as part of the snowmobile route.
As part of Sled Invasion, the Whitecourt Woodlands Performing Arts Society is hosting The Road Hammers, with special guest JJ Shiplett, at the Allan & Jean Millar Centre on Saturday, February 15. Tickets are available at the Allan & Jean Millar Centre.
