As the Rural Renewal Program in Whitecourt approaches its conclusion after three years of designation, no further endorsement letters are being issued to new applicants. Only businesses that have already received approval and are currently awaiting their endorsement letters for eligible candidates will be processed.

EMPLOYERS AND CANDIDATES PLEASE NOTE:

The Worker Expression of Interest (EOI) portal has been updated to include the selection of the designated community:

• If you have submitted an EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) but HAVE NOT been invited to submit an application and do not have an application currently submitted please cancel the current EOI and create a new EOI that specifies the designated community as soon as possible.
• To cancel a Worker EOI, applicants must go into their submitted EOI on the AAIP portal, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the cancel button.
• Cancelling your current EOI and submitting a new one will not change your position in the queue or affect your EOI status as application are selection on a points system criteria.

Entrepreneur Stream

The Rural Entrepreneur Stream is an opportunity for Whitecourt to work with immigrant entrepreneurs from outside of Canada who are interested in starting a new business or investing in an existing business within the Town of Whitecourt. The program will provide an opportunity to help expand the local economy and support succession planning for our local business community.
