In this role, you will work with agencies, stakeholders, businesses and other appropriate organizations to plan, promote and facilitate ongoing messaging, initiatives, programs and events for the prevention of family violence.
These 35 hour per week positions are flexible with the ability to work both remotely and in the community.
Key duties include:
• Promote family violence awareness and prevention strategies.
• Plan and organize initiatives, programs and events.
• Lead monthly Stakeholder meetings.
• Organize Stakeholder training.
• Facilitate community presentations and awareness campaigns.
From the preferred applicants, we are seeking:
• 1-year post-secondary education in a human services field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of impact of family violence.
• Knowledge of community initiatives, resources and services.
• Facilitation skills, creative, flexible, problem solver.
• The ability to work with a variety of agencies and partnerships;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• A valid class 5 driver’s license.
• A valid First Aid certificate is an asset
• Able to prioritize, plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction/supervision, and
• A high degree of personal initiative and the ability to work will independently and in the community.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain a criminal record check (vulnerable sector), an intervention record check, and a driver’s abstract, suitable to the employer prior to being hired.

The Crime Prevention Liaison organizes, implements, and coordinates community-based crime prevention programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the Detachment Services Coordinator and RCMP Detachment Commander, this position is responsible for
• Attempt to develop and promote a positive image for the RCMP through Public Relations efforts, projects, and programs. Establishes and maintains positive and constructive relations with the public and all other contacts encountered on the job.
• Facilitate workshops and other training sessions on community-based crime prevention initiatives for RCMP members, support staff, and the Whitecourt Community.
• Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the program budget.
• Book appointments, schedule meetings, and process correspondence relating to activities for crime prevention programs and activities.
• Perform research on various projects, compile information, conduct surveys, and arrange advertising as needed.
• Perform clerical duties that relate directly to crime prevention programs and activities. Greet the public, give out information and answer general inquiries about crime prevention programs and activities.
• Maintain RCMP Detachment crime prevention program and resource material.
• Keep abreast of departmental (RCMP) activities, understand the various operational areas, and answer general inquiries about crime prevention programs and activities.
• Administer the RAVE and CAPTURE program.
• Assume other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
• Provide clerical support to the Town’s Protective Services Committee.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma.
• 2 years related post-secondary education or equivalent related experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong organizational ability, and a demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision are essential. Although working under minimal supervision, the successful candidate must also demonstrate an ability to work effectively as a team player in a work environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft software and Adobe Acrobat.
• An ability to deal effectively with the public and other contacts as demonstrated by experience in a work environment where the general public is a client.
• The access to classified and sensitive information requires the incumbent of the position to have and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
• Ability to work in an environment requiring high confidentiality, diplomacy and graphic or sensitive material exposure.
• A valid driver’s licence is required.
The Town of Whitecourt offers a competitive compensation package to the successful applicant. The current salary range for this position is $36.26 - $40.79 per hour. The successful applicant must pass a pre-employment physical and complete an RCMP enhanced reliability clearance.

The Detachment Services Coordinator is a key member of the Detachment Services team and is responsible for a team of administrators who provide administrative and operational support to the RCMP detachment. The Detachment Services Coordinator coordinates the workflow for all administrative support functions within the detachment.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the Director of Community Safety and the RCMP Detachment Commander, this position is responsible for a team of administrators who provide administrative and operational support to the RCMP detachment.
• Provide administrative support for the RCMP Leadership Team.
• Coordinate the workflow of all administrative support functions for the detachment.
• Provide support and technical oversight to review service delivery and workload.
• Provide coaching and mentoring through ongoing feedback, empowering employees to achieve their desired outcomes.
• Responsible for scheduling, leave requests, training, and timekeeping approvals.
• Create, monitor, and evaluate department goals and operational activities to set work priorities, update processes, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide expertise and support to RCMP detachment leadership in the delivery of services, collaborating effectively on programs and day-to-day service delivery requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Community Safety to streamline activities, create synergies, and enhance workflow practices.
• Responsible for escalated service concerns, problem-solving, and addressing complex issues.
• Performs a variety of administrative support services for the detachment.
• Assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a law enforcement, legal, or government environment.
• Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite programs and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to pass RCMP security clearance before offer of employment, and maintain throughout employment.
• Must be able to complete tested courses in: RCMP PROS User Course, RCMP CPIC Maintenance Course, RCMP Records Information Manager Course.
• Ability to coach and mentor a team, creating an environment that promotes positive communication.
• Excellent relationship building, influencing, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
• Strong independent decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
