Fire Ban Lifted in Whitecourt as of July 29

Due to recent precipitation, the Town of Whitecourt has lifted the Fire Ban as of 4:00pm on Monday, July 29.  A Fire Ban was in place in Town limits since July 10, 2024 due to weather conditions.

Although the Fire Ban has been lifted, residents should remain diligent and aware of potential fire risks.  Residents are reminded that the Town of Whitecourt requires permits for all residential fire pits and temporary burning.  For more information on fire pit and burning permits, visit www.whitecourt.ca.

The operation of Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV) within the Town of Whitecourt is governed under Traffic Bylaw 1573, and OHV use within Town boundaries is prohibited between April 1 and November 30 annually.  Penalties for contravening Bylaw 1573 range from monetary fines to OHV seizure.
