Outdoor Rink Update
Posted on:Percy Baxter School and Southlands Ice Rinks are OPEN for public use!
Pat Hardy School and Central School Rinks require additional floods. Signs are posted asking people to stay of the rink surface until the ice is ready for use, and the doors to the rinks have been secured shut. A post will be made on this page and the Whitecourt website when they are ready for public use.
THIN ICE SIGNS REMAIN IN PLACE AT FESTIVAL PARK. The ice depth at Festival Park Pond is NOT safe for use; please obey all "Thin Ice" signs and other posted warnings. Crews will continue to monitor the ice thickness. Park users are asked not to throw items onto the pond as it makes it difficult to prep the surface for skating when rocks/sticks are frozen in the ice.
