Province confirms installation of new traffic signals along Highway 43 in Whitecourt

Posted on:

The Town of Whitecourt has received confirmation from the Government of Alberta that traffic signals will be installed at the intersection of Highway 43 and 33 Street.

According to Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, the design work for the intersection is nearing completion, and tendering of the project is expected early this year.

“As a key trade and tourism corridor to the north, traffic safety in Whitecourt is a priority,” stated Whitecourt Mayor Tom Pickard.  “This is one of the busiest intersections along the highway in our community, and Whitecourt is in full support of the development of traffic signals at Highway 43 and 33 Street.”

The Town of Whitecourt will continue to keep the community informed on the intersection enhancements as information is available.
