Whitecourt Accepting Evacuees from Northwest Territories
Posted on:In cooperation with the Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) Whitecourt will be opening the Allan & Jean Millar Centre as a reception centre for evacuees from the Northwest Territories due to wildfires. Residents and businesses may notice an influx of people into town. All evacuees must register with the Town of Whitecourt, either by attending in person at the Allan & Jean Millar Centre at 58 Sunset Boulevard, or by calling 780.778.3637, extension 0.
Although these are difficult circumstances, we know from past experience that our community will come together to welcome our neighbours from the north.
