Whitecourt is named Designated Community for immigration program
Posted on:Whitecourt is proud to announce that it is a Designated Community under the Rural Renewal Stream of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).
The AAIP is an economic immigration program that nominates individuals for permanent residence in Alberta. Through this partnership, the Whitecourt Economic Development team will work with local businesses and industry to attract and recruit newcomers, and collaborate with organizations to support their move to Whitecourt.
“This is a great economic opportunity for our community,” stated Whitecourt Mayor Tom Pickard. “Being part of this program will not only bring highly trained individuals to our community, but it will also bring new business and services that will add to our growing economy.”
A Rural Renewal Stream candidate is a foreign national who does not have permanent residence or Canadian citizenship. As such, qualifying candidates may be recruited from within Alberta, Canada or outside of Canada.
