Whitecourt Town Council

Whitecourt Town Council passed Fees, Rates and Charges Bylaw 1551-4 at the December 20, 2021 Council Meeting.  The bylaw reflects rates and fees outlined in the 2022 Interim Budget for services provided by the Town of Whitecourt, and will come into effect on January 1, 2022.

Council has approved a Development Permit for The Garage Brewhouse & Pub at 5015 50 Avenue.  This property, formerly occupied by the Downtown Automall, is located in a Direct Control district where Council is the  Development Authority.  The permit has been approved for the use only, and the property owner will continue to work with the Whitecourt Planning & Development Department on moving forward with approvals.

Whitecourt is applying to the Alberta Community Partnership Grant Program for funding to complete the Whitecourt Regional Landfill Commission study.  The study will review governance structures for the Whitecourt Regional Solid Waste Management Authority, which operates the Whitecourt Landfill.  Woodlands County, as the operating partner of the Authority, has provided its support of the application.

Whitecourt Town Council has forwarded a request from Woodlands County to partner in hosting the COPA 2023 National Fly-In event to the Whitecourt Tourism Committee for consideration.

Whitecourt Town Council will host its annual Planning Session on February 3 to 5, 2022.  At the session, Council will identify community priorities and plans to address local needs over the course of this term.
