Whitecourt Town Council will be requesting a meeting with Woodlands County representatives to discuss the Culture & Events Centre. Over the last several months, Whitecourt administration has been working with consultants to prepare the construction drawings and update costing. Costing was received over the anticipated amount for the project, and modified concept plans have been drafted to reduce costs. In recognition of project partners, discussions will take place with partners prior to releasing more details about the modified plans to the public. The Whitecourt Economic Development Committee provided a semi-annual update on its activities and current projects at the October 10 Regular Meeting of Council. Activities have been focused on encouraging investment attraction across key sectors, and implementing business retention and expansion strategies in support of local businesses.
