Whitecourt Town Council Update
Posted on:
The Whitecourt & District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. in downtown Whitecourt. Town Council has approved street closures for the parade in the downtown, and residents will be reminded of the closures closer to the event date. To register a float, or more information on the event, visit the Whitecourt Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page. Town Council has supported an application to the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta (FRIAA) to fund a 2022 FireSmart Summer Crew project to conduct vegetation management on areas within Town limits, and to educate the public on FireSmart initiatives. The proposed project is valued at $109,100. Whitecourt is entering into a development agreement with 668460 Alberta Ltd. to install a stormwater service to the Whitecourt Ford property to address ponding issues experienced on site. Whitecourt and Woodlands County Councils will be meeting on November 9 to allow new and returning Council Members to be introduced. The Policies and Priorities Committee scheduled for November 15, 2021 is cancelled. |
