The Government of Alberta has extended a grant for the Whitecourt & Area Family Support Program by one year. The Ministry has expressed its appreciation for the valuable services provided by the Program to support families throughout the region. For information on the programs and services offered, follow the Program on Facebook @WhitecourtAreaFamilySupportProgram.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 44 will host Whitecourt’s 2022 Remembrance Day Service at the Allan & Jean Millar Centre. Typically, the ceremony is hosted at the Community Centre in Central School; however, renovations are currently underway at the facility and it will not be available. Further details on the event will be announced by the Legion closer to the holiday.

National Coaches Appreciation Week is September 17 to 25, 2022. Community members are encouraged to submit nominations for local coaches as part of the recognition event.

Metrix Group LLP has been appointed the auditor for the Town of Whitecourt for a three-year term.

Council will host a Council Committee Appreciation Reception on October 26, 2022 for all members that serve on municipal boards and committees.

The Meadows land lease community is growing, and 34 additional condominium units will be constructed in the area. A new road in the development will also be built, and Council has named the street Shoreline Drive.

The September 19, 2022 Policies and Priorities Committee meeting has been rescheduled to 1:00pm. The meeting will be held in the boardroom at the Town Office.
