World Drowning Prevention Day
Posted on:Whitecourt Town Council has recognized July 25, 2023 as World Drowning Prevention Day 2023.
Drowning has caused over 2.5 million deaths in the last decade.
Learning basic swimming and water safety skills greatly reduces the risk of drowning. The Town of Whitecourt offers a number of water safety programming, including the Swim to Survive program which is free to residents. For details on how to register for the program visit rec.whitecourt.ca.
