Whitecourt launches 2022 online budget input initiative

Posted on:

Whitecourt has launched its annual budget input campaign and community members are invited to share their thoughts on the 2022 budget.

The 2022 Interim Budget Report and a gallery of budget infographics are available online at www.whitecourt.ca/Government to provide community members with information on Council’s plans for the year.  Members of the public are asked to review the information, and forward questions and comments to administration@whitecourt.ca by Friday, February 4.

“Community members had a chance to let us know in the fall of 2021 what should be prioritized in 2022, and we are now checking in and asking residents to review the interim budget and share their comments,” stated Whitecourt Mayor Tom Pickard.  “Developing a budget is an ongoing process, and we want to make sure the community has an opportunity to take part and share their thoughts.  This format is similar to last year’s campaign, and Whitecourt Town Council is looking forward to hearing your feedback.”

The interim budget was passed in late December 2021, and the comments received from community members will be reviewed and considered by Council during development of the final budget.  The final budget is scheduled to be approved in April, once the Provincial budget has been announced and final assessment figures have been established.
